Sign in to WhoseDev

Sign in when you want WhoseDev Cloud models, account quota, team workspaces, and synced usage metadata. You can use the editor without signing in if you rely on a direct provider (BYOK) or local Ollama only.

  1. Open the Command Palette (Ctrl+Shift+P / Cmd+Shift+P).
  2. Run WhoseDev: Sign In.
  3. Complete the browser sign-in flow and return to the editor.

You can also open the status bar account menu when it is visible. After sign-in it shows your plan and Usage remaining.

Run WhoseDev: Sign Out from the Command Palette. Managed cloud routes stop working until you sign in again; local and BYOK routes configured on the device are unaffected.

WhoseDev uses a browser-based authentication handoff:

  1. The editor opens your default browser to the WhoseDev sign-in page.
  2. After you authenticate, the browser redirects back to the editor through a registered protocol handler (whosedev://).
  3. The editor exchanges the authorization code for session tokens.

On Linux, the install includes an auth URL handler script so OAuth callbacks reach the correct WhoseDev instance (installed vs development build).

Setting whosedev.account.region chooses which WhoseDev backend region to prefer:

Value Behavior
us United States
eu European Union
auto Auto-select based on latency

Change this in WhoseDev settings if your organization requires a specific data region.
